Hour of Power

What is the Hour of Power?
The Hour of Power is a high-intensity, total-body fitness class that combines the mental focus and breathing of Yoga, the core muscle development of Pilates, the high-energy fat-burning of Aerobics, and the muscle toning of Body Pump. It is a fitness class that appeals equally to men and women of all ages.

Why the Hour of Power?
The Hour of Power will allow you to achieve a high level of total-body fitness in a very short space of time, typically 1 to 2 hours a week. It is one of the few fitness classes that is equally attended by men and women, and all levels of fitness from elite athlete to complete beginner, because the intensity is determined entirely by the weights you use.

History of the class
The Hour of Power is the original total-body fitness class. Devised 20 years ago in London, England by Dragan Radovic. This unique workout is based upon his Fitness4x4 training concept of balancing upper- and lower-body fitness. The Hour of Power is taught in over 5 countries worldwide and at key locations across the U.K. For more information on the Fitness4x4 training method please click the following link. Do you want Total Body Fitness? Try the Hour of Power

The Hour of Power truly is a full-body fitness experience, unlike circuit training or conventional aerobics the upper body muscles are expected to contribute just as much as the lower body in this cardiovascular workout. The selection of movements and the structure of the workout ensures that practically every muscle group in the body, at various stages, are connected with the cardiovascular system and are demanding the highest performance.

Take for example a typical cardiovascular training session such as running, where more than 70% of the body’s muscles (upper body) are barely involved in the workout whilst a few major muscles (legs) are required to perform. Such training clearly cannot bring about a condition known as total body fitness. The Hour of Power does provide you with Total Fitness because it does not leave out any part of the body in 60minutes of cardio-vascular training.
